How much is tuition? – Tuition for the 2011-12 school year is $6990. This usually goes up each year. The per pupil cost of education is actually over $8000, but we are able to offset the cost through fundraising. Financial Aid is available to those who qualify.
What about books? – Here at Mac, students are required to purchase most of their books. This is done on-line at Follet and prices vary. Used books are available and re-selling books is encouraged. We are working hard to offer digital textbooks to our students with laptops.
Do I have to do fundraisers? – McNamara has many fundraisers, but only one that everyone must participate in. Each fall we hold the Ceile Calendar sale, and students are required to sell eight calendars at $35 each. The calendars are easy to sell and we even provide a list of former buyers to students who need assistance. Student sellers are able to earn great prizes and even cash.
Students participating in athletics will be required to pay a one time fee of $150. With this fee they will be given activity cards to sell at $10 each. Selling the cards enables students to make back the $150. In some cases students have even earned money by selling extra cards.
The Phonathon, Drawdown and Auction are all voluntary fundraisers.
How do I purchase uniforms? – All students must wear the McNamara button-down shirt and they are available from CML Activewear for $22-$26 each. The shirts come in pink, yellow, white or blue and students may choose from short or long sleeved. Shirts are ordered directly from the company and delivered to your home over the summer. All students are allowed to wear khaki pants (purchased anywhere) and girls have the option of ordering a grey uniform skirt from Schoolbelles. Students may also wear the fleece and sweater (each with logo) allowed by the school. Shoes must be solid black or dark brown.
