Tim & Colette Gernon

Tim and Colette have served Bishop McNamara faithfully for many years. Colette was the first female president of the Bishop McNamara School Board. Together they served as chairmen of the Annual Dinner Auction in 1993 and were recognized as honorary chairmen in 2007. They also served as chairmen of the Huddle Club’s Annual Pig Roast. Tim is the past general chairman of the 2002 Capital Campaign and he is currently the president of the Bishop McNamara Foundation Board. Tim and Colette are members of St. Patrick’s Parish in Kankakee. They have been dedicated service and community leaders throughout their lives and are continually chosen to lead or chair committees, foundations, and major projects. Colette has been a member of the Kankakee Kultivators, the Junior League of Kankakee County where she chaired their first auction, and she served on the St. Mary’s Auxiliary Board where she chaired the Annual Style Show twice. Tim is a former member, founder, and the first president of Hospice of Kankakee Valley. He helped found and served as the first president of the Community Alliance. He has served on the Board of Directors of Presence St. Mary’s Hospital, the Diocese of Joliet Education Foundation, and Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home. Tim is a member and founder of the Kankakee Community College Cavalier Club and he currently serves on the Executive Committee of KCC’s Foundation Board. Tim is a recipient of the distinguished Beacon Award for his outstanding contributions to the Kankakee community. Their three children all graduated from Bishop McNamara High School; Liz ‘95, Rob ‘98, and Timoney ‘05.
