Dennis Smith

Dennis Smith graduated from Bishop McNamara High School in 1969 and then from the University of Notre Dame. His entire professional career was spent at Manteno State Bank/HomeStar Bank. Denny was passionate about Bishop McNamara and gave tirelessly of his time to serve on many boards and committees important to the school including the Capital Campaign in 2001. Denny was a true ambassador for Bishop McNamara, and was actively involved as a mentor to many Bishop McNamara students. Denny died on September 3, 2007 of ALS commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. His wife, Jill Blanchette Smith, is a 1969 graduate. The Dennis J. Smith Legacy Foundation has been established to help students who may not otherwise be able to attend Bishop McNamara.
