Social work services will be available to pre-k through 6th grade students on an individual and group level.

Students at the junior high and high school levels will all receive an opportunity to meet individually with the school social worker. These quick appointments are to check in with each student to monitor their transition to the junior high as it applies to lockers, classes, workload, staying organized, making friends, getting involved, and general acclimation to their new setting. This is an excellent precursor to the high school's counseling program.

After their initial meeting, students will also have the option to join a number of group counseling sessions that meet throughout the year or schedule individual appointments if necessary.

Is your child having trouble transitioning to the new school year and being away from home? Try the sweet storybook, "The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn. Read together at home and drop your student off with their own "kissing hand" during this sometimes difficult back-to-school time.

Back to school can be a rough transition from summer fun, but joining an activity, club, or sport can help students feel a sense of belonging and get them excited for school. Depending on their grade level, there are many opportunities to get involved. Contact your site for ideas!

Looking for a fun Valentine's Day activity for the family?

Have you heard of Gary Chapman's book, "The Five Love Languages for Children"? In this book you can find out the way your child BEST receives the love you bestow upon them daily.
