7th/8th Grade Reading: Miss Czernik
Welcome!
Highlights of 7th/8th grade reading include Speech Contest and exciting literature conquests! We take real-life, relatable approaches with everything we read- including examining things from a "Catholic," or Christian, perspective. We will be reading "The Pearl" by John Steinbeck, "Teenagers Preparing for the Real World," by Chad Foster, and "Financial Literacy for Teens" by Chad Foster in seventh grade. In eighth grade we will read "The Giver" by Lois Lowry and "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Sean Covey. These are in addition to selections from our literature anthologies (EMC Corporation and McDougal Littell). Informational text articles from msn.com will be utilized to discuss and contemplate national and world events.
At Bishop McNamara, our commitment is to meet each child where they are and then to inspire them to realize their unique potential. We look forward to watching our students grow and learn during this school year!
