Financial Aid & Scholarships
This year, Bishop McNamara Catholic High School students recieved over $466,000 in financial aid. Fifty four percent of McNamara students received financial assistance. Financial aid is awarded based on need. An objective third-party evaluator provides privacy and expertise in determining amounts awarded.
APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID
FACTS program – Bishop McNamara uses FACTS to complete their financial aid analysis.
* Applications for 2013-2014 can be submitted on-line here.
* Paper applications are available in the main office.
* Applicants can apply on-line by clicking here
* The deadline to apply has passed but to be considered for any other type of financial aid you must still apply.
Applicants should expect financial aid results in late May.
SCHOLARSHIPS
IHSA permits no athletic scholarships for high school students.
Endowed Scholarships – We have several scholarships awarded to students who demonstrate financial need. In order to be considered you need simply to apply for financial aid.
Susan Bradecich Memorial Scholarship – A one-time $500 award to the top scorers of the January placement exam. One recipient at each local, Catholic grade school and one recipent among all public grade schools.
O'Brien Scholarship – A one-time $500 award to the top scorer of the January placement exam from St. Paul's Lutheran School.
Scholarships that can be applied for:
Presence St. Mary's Employee Scholarship - Up to $1000 awarded to incoming freshmen and current McNamara Catholic students. At least one parent must be an employee of Presence St. Mary's.
To apply, families must:
- Fill out application
- Be sure to include proof of employment (from PSMH Human Resources Dept.)
The 2013-2014 deadline to apply has passed.
Ryan Beaupre Memorial Scholarship – $250 awarded to an incoming freshmen who exhibits a passion for McNamara and has applied for FACTS financial aid.
To apply, write a one page essay titled "Why a McNamara Catholic Education is Important to Me". Be sure to incldue your name and phone number. Applications should be mailed to the Admissions Office at 550 W. Brookmont Blvd., Kankakee IL 60901.

Kazma Family Foundation Scholarship - $3000 awarded annually for all 4 years of high school with an incentive program based on honor roll status which may increase the scholarship up to $5,000 per year. Catholic, eighth grade students entering Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Joliet may apply. This is a need based scholarship and all incoming freshmen who are practicing Catholics are encouraged to apply.

Bishop Blanchette CCW Scholarship - $1500 minimum awarded to Catholic students.
Students may reapply each year.
