Fee Day – Fee Day for the 2017-18 school year will take place on Tuesday, June 6 at the BMCS Kankakee site from 11am-1pm and 5pm-6:30pm.  Family statements indicating balances due for Fee Day were sent home last Tuesday. Box Tops for EducationPlease continue to collect Box Tops over the summer and see how fast they add up.  This is a quick easy way to help raise money for our school! Last year we earned over $600 dollars just from Box Tops sent in.

Mass to Honor Grandparents – This Thursday, May 18. We want to celebrate all of the grandparents in our students’ lives.  On Thursday, May 18, at 1:30pm, during our weekly school Mass, we will honor grandparents for all that they do and who they are.  We invite all grandparents to join their grandchildren this week at this special Mass. There will be parking available in the church lot.

 

Crème of the Crop Picnic on the LawnThis Friday, May 19.  Parents are welcome to join their student(s) for a picnic on the lawn. Bring your own blanket/lawn chair! If you did not place a lunch order with Crème of the Crop, you are welcome to bring lunch for yourself and your student.  Unfortunately, in order to be able to accommodate all students and families, we must ask that only immediate family members attend this event. Additional parking will be available in the MBVM Church parking lot. ALL LUNCHES (PreK3 – 6th Grade) WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 11:50am -12:40pm ON THIS DAY

Fightin’ Irish 5K & 2-Mile WalkJoin us for the Fightin’ Irish 5K & 2-Mile Walk THIS Saturday, April 29.  There is still time to register!  Online registration is available at bishopmac.com/5K.  If you need an additional pledge sheet, please email fightinirish5k@bmcss.org. Remember to turn in your pledge sheets and money to the office by Friday, April 28! Race day check-in begins at 7:30am.  Run/walk begins at 9am.  We hope to see you there!

 

6th Grade Step-Up Day - During the school day on April 28th, our 6th graders will be traveling to the junior high where they will be given a tour, meet teachers and other students, have lunch, and learn all about being a junior high student at Bishop McNamara Catholic School. The faculty at the junior high has an amazing day planned for our students! The students will be back to their respective site in time for regular dismissal.

  • March 30th: Jeans Day to Raise Funds for Camp Kesem: Our Lenten service collection will be for Camp Kesem. Camp Kesem is a national non-profit organization with chapters in many different colleges and universities. Their mission is to run a free, week-long summer camp for children who have been touched by a parent’s cancer. We will be taking donations for Camp Kesem by holding a jeans day. Junior High Service Project – The junior high students are embarking on a Lenten service project, Patient Pals, to benefit local pediatric hospital patients.  Toy donations will be welcome between March 1 – April 7.  This project is an important way for our students to make a local impact through Christian service.  Thank you for your donations!

Select Quick Links from the top menu. Select FACTS Aid to be routed to the official Bishop McNamara FACTS page. All applications MUST be submitted and verified by March 1st. NEED HELP COMPLETEING THIS PROCESS? Please join us February 7th from 6pm-8pm at the BMCS Bradley computer lab. We will walk you through the process. Please bring with you: $30 registration fee, W2 forms or 1099 Forms, 2015 or 2016 income tax forms, information about monthly expenses, credit cards, insurance, etc.

Fundraising – Year-to-date fundraising reports have been emailed out. Please check your email or log in to school speak for detailed information. Please Remember:

  • The fundraising fiscal year for the 2016 – 2017 school year runs from May 1, 2016 - April 30, 2017.
  • Each family is expected to meet its respective annual fundraising commitment during this period of time.

Spring Play Auditions: Do you like to sing or dance or act? All 7th through 12th graders are invited and encouraged to audition for this year’s spring musical production of Schoolhouse Rock Live!. Auditions will be held Wednesday, January 18. There is a pre-audition meeting Tuesday in Mrs. Ronchetto’s classroom (room 112) immediately after school. She will explain the audition process, distribute audition packets, check out scripts, and answer any questions that you have about joining our theatre program. Every student at the BMCS Kankakee site is allowed and encouraged to audition.

Track: Congratulations to the boys' track team on their State competition!  Ariez Andrew finished 8th in the state in the 100M dash, Ricky Esparza finished 14th in the state in the 3200m run and the 4x200m relay team of Dylan Anderson, Trenton Harrison, Giavion Mason and Ariez Andrew finished 6th in the state!  Way to go, Irish!

Softball: The Lady Irish Softball team are Regional Champs and play tonight in the first round of Sectionals.  The ladies take on Oak Forest at Oak Forest.  Game time is 4:30pm.  Best of luck! Go Irish!
