Mrs. Menard's Classroom
Hello! My name is Jamie Menard. I am the English Language Arts teacher for 6th grade as well and the Resource and RtI teacher at at the Bourbonnais site.
I feel so blessed to be a part of the Bishop McNamara Catholic School family again this year!
This is my 15th year of teaching. I received my Master's degree from Olivet Nazarene University and am a Reading Specialist. I have taught Kindergarten, Second and Third Grade. I also worked as a Reading Specialist for four years where I taught children in Kindergarten though 4th Grade. I also cotaught 5th and 6th Grade ELA Strategy Applications.
My family and I enjoy spending time together. We especially enjoy going camping and cheering on our favorite hockey team, the Chicago Blackhawks.
I have been married to my husband Jason for 15 years. We met at Bishop McNamara High School! We have 2 children. Joseph is in 7th grade. Madilyn is in 6th grade right here at the Bishop McNamara Bourbonnais Site. As a family, it doesn't matter what we are doing as long as we are doing it together.
Please be sure to have your child bring a book to school to read during homeroom. The last 15 minutes of the day is being used for silent reading each day.
In order to keep our laptops in the best condition as possible, please be sure to send in a protective case. The laptops are 7.5 x 11 and are the same size as a Chrome book. Thanks so much for all your help!
Out of uniform day
The 6th graders received an out of uniform pass for this Friday. Only 5th and 6th graders are allowed to be out of uniform this day.
ONE Shirts that were given out at the beginning of last the year may be worn on the 1st of every month with a uniform bottom. An order form for new ONE Shirts was sent home last week. I am so excited to see some of the children in the new design.
Any Bishop McNamara shirts or sweatshirts (including the ONE shirts) may be worn every Friday with uniform bottoms.
