Mrs. Mesenbring's Classroom
Welcome to Mrs. Mesenbring's page. I am looking forward to working with all the students and their parents as we enter this historic new school year. We will be focusing on physical science in eighth grade and life science in seventh grade as well as science fair. I know we will have a great time learning science as well as organizational and study skills. Be ready for race cars, dropping eggs off the stadium, dissecting frogs, using alleges to construct faces, and more!!!
I am a lifelong resident of the area. I have been married for 24 years to a wonderful and supportive husband and have one daughter who graduated with honors from Bishop McNamara in 2016 and is attending Illinois State University in Normal. I have a B.S. in Zoology from Eastern Illinois University with certification to teach grades 6 through 12. I am on the board for the Joliet Diocesan Science Teachers Association, Regional 11 Science Fair Board, and Illinois Junior Academy of Science State Science Fair Board. I am also the author of the Joliet Diocesan performance assessment for junior high science. My continuing education includes workshops at the University of St. Francis and Illinois Benedictine University as well as graduate classes at Olivet Nazarene University and Illinois State University. I currently have 200 hours of training in the New Generation Science Standards. My educational philosophy is to teach the whole child and not just the subject and to teach with a Christian purpose.
