Mose & Dolores Arseneau

Dolores Kilbride Arseneau and her late husband Mose Arseneau, both 1954 graduates of St. Patrick High School, have been staunch supporters of Bishop McNamara Catholic School for over half a century. They have given countless volunteer hours to further the mission and values of the school. Mose and Dolores have five children, all of whom attended Bishop McNamara. In fact, for 10 years between 1976 and 1986, you could find an Arseneau sibling in a Bishop McNamara High School classroom, with Mose and Dolores giving of their time and talents wherever there was a need. For many years Mose served as an integral member of the Irish Alumni Association Board while leading the Huddle Club with distinction and the club President. Together, Mose and Dolores worked and chaired a committee for Madcaps for numerous years.

Mose spent his career working at Northern Illinois Gas Co. while Dolores worked in the cafeteria at St. Patrick’s Grade School, watching proudly as all their children blossomed. Mose served as President of the Kankakee Township Fire Department and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. Dolores is a member of the St. Mary’s Auxiliary Board, where she has served as President in past years, and has chaired the Annual Fashion Show. She has also served on the St. Mary’s Foundation Board. Together, Mose and Dolores volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital for over 20 years in various capacities. Mose and Dolores were also active at St. Patrick’s Parish in Kankakee for countless years, serving on multitude of boards and fundraising projects. The only thing that could slow Mose down was his final repose, as he passed away in November 2020. However, Dolores continues to volunteer and exemplify the giving spirit, as she maintains her volunteer work with St. Mary’s Hospital and St. Patrick’s Parish as a Eucharistic Minister. As was the case for her children, Dolores finds great joy in supporting and attending their grandchildren’s school activities.

Through their strong Catholic faith, Mose and Dolores instilled the love and value of a Catholic education within their children and grandchildren. Their five children, all of whom attended and graduated from Bishop McNamara High School, are: Renee Arseneau ’80 Streicher, Rhonda Arseneau ’82 Upman, Jeff Arseneau ’83, Mike Arseneau ’85, and Todd Arseneau ’86. Mose and Dolores also have 18 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren: Tyler Arseneau ’11, Lucas Arseneau ’14, Jenna and Taylor Arseneau ’16, Andrew and Matthew Arseneau ’21 are Bishop McNamara graduates with Tara Arseneau '24 currently in the Bishop McNamara Catholic School system.
