Pat Martin is a 1978 graduate of Bishop McNamara High School. During his high school days, Pat was involved with several school clubs along with being a key member of the Fightin’ Irish Basketball and Golf Teams. From his senior year in 1978 to today, Pat has epitomized the Bishop McNamara mission statement, maximizing the potential of all around him spiritually, morally, and intellectually via the stewardship of faith-based community and service to others.

Pat is legendary for his willingness to give of his time, talent, and treasures to ensure Bishop McNamara’s success. When there seemed to be some interest to creating a Fishing Club at McNamara, Pat volunteered to become the Bishop McNamara Bass Fishing Coach. For years he has helped with the Annual Fund, served as a member of the Huddle Club, and volunteered at Madcaps. He has served on the Bishop McNamara School Board and Finance Committee. Along with being the originator of the Bishop McNamara Laptop Initiative, Pat was one of the creators of “Extreme Mac-Over,” where every room and locker in the school was painted and renovated. Last, but certainly not least, he played a major role in the renovation of the School Chapel and the Holy Grounds Café.

Pat is in the banking industry by trade, where he began working in 1984 for Manteno State Bank. Manteno State Bank eventually transitioned to HomeStar Bank, where Pat was named President in 2014. He has also served as a member of the bank’s Board of Directors. Following the acquisition of HomeStar by Midland States Bank, Pat remained onboard as Market President, a position he still occupies today.

Pat has always been a strong supporter of community involvement in the Kankakee area, where he has served on various boards, chaired committees, and led commissions for the last 25 years. Pat and his wife Sheila reside in Manteno. They have three children who are all Bishop McNamara alumni: Marissa ’07, Moira ’10, and Corey ’13.
