Dick was an outstanding athlete and graduated from St. Patrick High School in 1948. He continued his athletic career at Notre Dame University playing on the varsity basketball team. After graduation from Notre Dame, Dick returned to Kankakee to be a part of the family business and teach at St. Patrick High School. He died in 1971 of a massive coronary. He is survived by his wife Marlene and his four children, Michael, Kevin, Mary and Patricia, all of whom graduated Bishop McNamara High School.
