Pre K- 6 Bourbonnais

Mac PAC Butter Braid Pick up:  As a reminder, all Butter Braid orders must be picked up tomorrow Wednesday, December 19 between 4pm-6pm at the BMCS Kankakee site cafeteria.  A big THANK YOU to all of our school families who participated in the Butter Braid fundraiser!  

1st Grade Goods & Services Day: The 1st graders are hosting their annual Goods and Services Day tomorrow Wednesday, December 19. They will be selling a variety of yummy food items and providing a hand spa!  Prices for all goods and services range from 25 cents to $1.  All students will be able to make their purchases throughout the morning at times designated by their homeroom teachers, so be sure to bring in some money.  (If your child has any food allergies, please make sure he/she knows what items are safe for him/her to eat.)  All proceeds from this day will be used to provide a Merry Christmas to some local families in need.  The 1st graders look forward to serving you!!

There will be no school Mass this Thursday, December 20th.

Early Dismissal:  Friday is an early dismissal at 11:25/11:30.  No Bus Home.  No Extended Day.

Out of Uniform Day/Ugly Sweater Day:  On Friday, December 21, students are able to wear an ugly sweater. Friday will be an out of uniform day IF students wear an ugly sweater, Christmas shirt, or red/green shirt.  Otherwise students can wear their uniform.

Advent Project:  PK – 3rd grade are collecting items for the Pediatric unit of our local hospitals and 4th – 6th grades are collecting items for the Fortitude Community Outreach in Kankakee. Please send in your donations.  We will dedicate a portion of our Christmas celebration to assemble care packages for these organizations. Thank you in advance for your generosity. 

Scrip Orders:  If you placed an order by 9pm on December 16th delivery will be tomorrow, December 19th.  Orders placed between December 17th and 9pm on January 6th will be delivered on January 9th.  No orders will be delivered the week of December 23rd or December 30th. All ScripNow and reloads will be available over the holidays. Remember, you must be signed up for PrestoPay to use ScripNow and reloads.

Bradley Site Announcements

Adoration: We will be hosting an Adoration during the upper grade recess on Tuesday, December 18th.

Gingerbread Houses: 1st and 5th grade will be building Gingerbread Houses on Tuesday, December 18th.

Band: NO band practice for 4th-6th grades this week.

CMO Mass: The Catholic Ministry Office's Advent Mass will be held in the Chapel at the Kankakee Site on Tuesday, December 18th at 6:30pm. All are welcome.

School Mass: The school mass will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, December 19th and will be hosted by 2nd grade and Father Tony.

Christmas Carnival: The student council Christmas Carnival will be held on Thursday, December 20th.

PE: There will be no PE classes on Thursday, December 20th.

Out of Uniform Days: Thursday, December 20th will be a "Red and Green" Out of Uniform day for a $1.00 donation. Friday, December 21st is an Out of Uniform Day!

Christmas Celebrations: We will be having a Christmas Movie day in the morning on Friday, December 21st, followed by Christmas Caroling at 11:15 in the gym. There is an early dismissal at 11:30am. There is no extended day or afternoon bus.

Christmas Break: Christmas Break is from December 22 through January 7th. Classes resume on January 8th.

Bradley Site Announcements

Advent Reconciliation Service: For grades 3-6 on Monday, December 10th. The service will begin after the lunch recess at 1:15pm.


Parent Workday: Tuesday, December 11th we will be preparing the fleece for blanket making.

 

Mass: Mass will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, December 12th and is being hosted by 6th grade. There will be a special Our Lady of Guadalupe skip before mass begins.

 

Christmas Band Concert: 4th-6th Grade Band Concert is on Wednesday, December 12th at 7pm at the Kankakee Site.

 

PreK-6th Grade Christmas Concert: The Christmas Concert is being held at Olivet Nazarene University's Centennial Chapel at 6:30pm on Thursday, December 13th. Students should arrive by 6:15pm. Doors open at 6pm.

Bradley Site Announcements

Catholic Ministry: 6th grade Catholic Ministry today at 2pm.

Band: 4th grade band will meet today at the Kankakee Site at 3:20pm. 5th/6th grade band will meet Thursday, December 6th at the Kankakee Site at 3:20pm.

Mass: Mass will be held tomorrow/Wednesday at 1:30pm and will be hosted by the 3rd graders.

No Bus Service: There will be no afternoon bus service tomorrow/Wednesday, December 5th.

Lighted Parade: The Bradley Lighted Parade is being held on Friday, December 7th at 6:30. Parent Ambassadors are needed Friday morning from 9am-noon to help decorate the BMCS float. Please see the flyer in Tuesday folders for details.

Basketball: The Boys Basketball team is playing Manteno on Thursday, December 6th at 4:30 at the BMCS Bradley Site. They will also play Peotone on Saturday, December 8 in Peotone.

Bradley Site Announcements

Band: 4th grade band will meet on Tuesday November 27th at 3:30pm at the Kankakee Site. 5th/6th grade band will meet on Thursday, November 29th at 3:30pm at the Kankakee Site.

Giving Tuesday: Our school families will be participating in a gently-used coast drive on Tuesday, November 27th. Giving warmth to members of our community is a way to teach our students about serving others.

Mass: Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 28th at 1:30pm and will be hosted by 4th grade.

Boys Basketball: The 6th grade boys basketball team has a game on Tuesday, November 27th at 4:30pm at St. George and on Thursday, November 29th at 4:30pm versus Grant Park at St. Martins.

Sean's Send Off Day: On Friday, November 30th we will have a special send off for Sean. Please wear a blue or a your "Sean Strikes Out Thalassemia" shirt for minimun $1 donation to his family.

Soc Hop: The 6th through 8th graders have having a Soc Hop on Friday, November 30th from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Kankakee Site. Admission is $5.

Bradley Site Announcements

Band: 4th grade band will meet at the HS @3:20 on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. 5/6th grade band at HS @3:20 on Thursday, November 15th, 2018.

Field Trip: The 4th-6th grade will take a field trip to the Symphony. They will eat lunch at 11:30 am and leave at 12:15 pm for the Symphony.
 
Report Cards: Reports will go home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. 
Mass: Mass will be held this week on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Mass will be hosted by Father Peeters and the 5th grade class. 1st Trimester Awards will take place after Mass. All are welcome to join us.
Mac Pac: The monthly Mac Pac Meeting will be held on Wednesday November 14, 2018 at 7 pm at Kankakee Site. New members are welcome.
 
Junie B. Jones: All grades will be attending the June B. Jones play on Thursday, November 15, 2018. There will be an early Lunch for all grades at 11:15 am, then they will head to see Junie B. Jones play at 12:30 pm.
Boys Basketball: 6th grade Boys Basketball Home Game, 4:30 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2018. 

Turkey Feast: Students and teachers will gather at lunch for a special celebratory Thanksgiving feast on Friday, November 16 at 11:30 am.

Out of Uniform: Students can participate in an out of uniform day on Friday, November 16, 2018. $2 will go towards our schoolwide Thanksgiving Service project.

ShamROCK Fest: The ShamROCK Fest will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Knights of Columbus. Doors open at 6:30. Tickets can be purchased online at bishopmac.com/shamROCKfest or at the door.

Bishop McNamara Progressive Raffle:  The next Progressive Raffle drawing is next week at ShamROCK Fest!  Don’t forget to turn in your sold tickets by Friday, November 16, 2018 at 3pm to be entered into Drawing #2.  To request more tickets, please ask for a Ticket Request form from the office. Tickets can also be bought on www.bishopmac.com/raffle.

Mass Day – Today is a Mass Day and we will be on Mass Day schedule. Please see the website for a detailed schedule listing.

Grade 9 - 12 Kankakee

Finals - Final Schedule for tomorrow- 1st hour – 8:30 – 9:45, 2nd hour – 10:05 – 11:20, Lunch – 11:25 – 11:55, 5th hour – 12:00 – 1:15. A detailed listing can be found on the website or posted on the bulletin board outside of the Main Office.

Pencils for Promise - To raise money for Pencils of Promise, High School students can be out of uniform during finals, tomorrow through Friday. It is two dollars each day if you are out of uniform.

House News - The final standing for the first semester is Killarney in fifth with 22 points, Waterford in fourth with 22 and a half points, Donegal in third with 24 points, Limerick in second with 25 points, and in first is Dublin with 26 and a half points. Today is the last Day to order house sweatshirts on BSN using the code MACHOUSE. Also, Coming soon!! January 18th the House system will be hosting a talent show! Join us to support your Fightin' Irish Boys Basketball team as they take on IC Prep. Pre-order your Lights Out shirt by next Wednesday, December 19th. Shirts are $10 each. Emails – Be sure to check your SCHOOL email daily. If your parents are dropping off a book, lunch, money, etc. to you, we will send you an email.

 

Bake Sale - There will be baked goods at lunch today for Pencils of Promise -- Penny Wars only has a 3 days left, the Seniors are still in the lead but not by much.  Remember to put your coins in at the lunch counter.  Winning class gets a out of uniform day next semester!

 

Final Exam Schedule - High school schedule for next week. Wednesday – December 19th –1st hour, 2nd hour, Lunch, and 5th hour. Thursday – December 20th –3rd hour, 4th hour, Lunch, 6th hour, and Make up. Friday – December 21st, 7th hour , 8th hour , Make up. Detailed times can be found on the bulletin board outside the Main Office.

 

Career Center - Pre-Registration forms for the Career Center for next Fall are now available in the Guidance Office.

 

Theatre - The Bishop McNamara Theatre Program is proud to present the Winter Theatre Showcase today and tomorrow at 7:00 pm in the Black Box Theatre. Tickets are $5 each and are available for purchase now in the main office at lunch or after school. Tickets will not be sold before school. Seating is limited, so pre-purchased tickets are recommended. We have two scenes that are student-written and seven scenes that are student-directed. Come support your fellow students as they showcase their directing, writing, and acting skills.

 

Spring Musical: All 7th through 12th graders are invited and encouraged to audition for this year’s spring musical production of Godspell. Late Start – High School has a late start tomorrow. Freshman however still need be here at 8:00am and will report to cafeteria for the Freshman Finals Workshop. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors will start at 9:25am sharp.

 

College Visit - Attention Junior and Senior students: Indiana State University will be here tomorrow at 10:45am. They will be set up in the Celtic Knot. Students will need to have a pass from the Guidance Office to attend.

Mass Day – Today is a Mass Day and we will be on Mass Day schedule. Please see the website for a detailed schedule listing.

 

Jostens - Jostens will be on campus on Friday, December 14th during lunch, in the cafeteria, for ring service day.  All students and staff are invited to have their Jostens ring inspected, polished, resized, and stone replaced if needed, at no charge. Please be certain to bring your class ring to school for ring service day. New ring orders may be placed with a $50.00 down payment.  You may design your ring at Jostens.com.

 

Robotics - Robotics is today after school until 3:45pm. This will be our last meeting of the semester! See you there.

 

Lost and Found – Items are piling up once again. Please come to the Main Office if you have lost a lunch box, uniform, shoes, etc. Still have 2 pairs of prescription glasses. All items left after next Friday will be donated.

Scholarship Opportunity – Attention Senior students: The Soy Capital/Johnson Scholarship application is now available in the Guidance Office. Awards are based on grade point average, scholastic aptitude, and financial need. To be eligible, a student must have earned an ACT score of at least a 16 or an SAT score of 675.

 

Bake Sale - MAKE SURE TO BAKE TONIGHT AND BRING IN SOME GOODIES TOMORROW MORNING to the CMO.  The first hour class that brings in the most baked goods will get  A donut and chocolate milk morning next week.  Tomorrow at lunch we will have Dollar Dessert Day for Pencils for Promise.  PLEASE SUPPORT OUR ADVENT CAMPAIGN.
