Midterms will be going home this week on Wednesday, April 17th.

 

EARLY DISMISSAL: This Thursday, April 18th is an early dismissal at 11:30. There will no bus home and no extended day.

 

EASTER BREAK: Easter break begins this Friday, April 19th through Wednesday, April 24th. Classes will resume on Thursday, April 25th.



 

No School Mass: In observance of Lent our regular school mass will be replaced by the Stations of the Cross today at 1:30pm at MBVM Church.

Story Tots: Please join us for Bible stories and fun on Friday, March 22nd at BMCS Bourbonnais Site at 10:00am. This event is for children ages 2 to 5. Younger siblings are welcome to come along!

Lenten Reconciliation Service: Reconciliation for the 3rd-6th graders will be held on Monday, April 8th at 1:30 pm in the gym.

OUT OF UNIFORM DAY: We will have an out of uniform day on Thursday, March 7 for a $1.00 donation to the Children's Miracle Network Hospital. 

STATIONS OF THE CROSS: We will be having Stations of the Cross at 2:15 pm on the Fridays of Lent in Saint Joseph's Church.

Graduation Signs – Orders for Graduation Signs are due today. No late orders will be accepted after 12:00pm today.

Vacation – If you are going on vacation, please come to the Main Office for a form. Any extended absence should have a vacation or college visit form completed by the student. This includes extended absences for any out of school event where an absence is involved. Students will have every teacher sign and then it is signed by Mr. Crossley. A note is then attached by the parent excusing the absence.   These forms are necessary for teachers and the Main Office to be aware of extended absences.

Bowling - Irish bowlers took practicing for tonight's All School City Tournament seriously! Peter Nichols bowled 22 pins over his series goal. Wes Provost had a strong third place finish, just behind Joe Pizur in second. Trey Trevino once again struck his way into first place, throwing two games over 200 once again!

Congrats- Congratulations to the Bishop McNamara Choir, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band on their Division 1 ratings at this weekend's Organizational Contest. Mrs. Shinabarger and Ms. Knefelkamp are very proud of the students' accomplishments.

Out of Uniform - There will be an Out of Uniform day this Friday for all Jr. High and High School students. $2 donation that will support the American Cancer Society through the girls softball team’s ‘purple game’. The game is this Saturday, April 13th, JV is playing at 11:00am and Varsity is at 1:00pm against BBCHS. Come support a good cause! 

 

Art - Congratulations to Liz Barajas! Her art piece created for the Art 4 Heart Art Show was chosen at that show to be entered into another show also hosted by Riverside Hospital.  The new show opens tonight at the Yellow Elephant Gallery in Kankakee and runs from 5:30 - 7:30pm.  Way to go Liz!

In other art news:  Vanessa Diaz, Ruthie Nunez, Nierra Harris, Emily Ochoa, Kennedy Lakomiak, and Gillian Brenner will be representing our school at the Midwest Southern Conference Art Competition on Friday.  Wish these ladies luck as we compete for the first time against the other schools of the conference


Bowling –Irish bowlers had a great day yesterday! Peter Nichols came in 3rd, bowling 22 pins over his series goal! Joe Pizur struck his way into 2nd, and Trey Trevino easily finished first, with seven strikes in a row his first game, finishing the day with two games over 200!

Early Dismissal – Early dismissal today. Junior High at 12:00pm and High School at 1:15pm. High school is on a heat/early dismissal schedule with classes as follows : 1, 2 ,3, 7, 8, 4, 5, and 6. No home room today.

Coffee Shop – The Holy Grounds Coffee Shop will NOT be open today.

Seniors - Please do not forget to RSVP to Mrs. McThenia in regards to Senior Recognition Night. Invitations went out at the beginning of last week. The event will be held on Wednesday, May 8th at 6:30 p.m, dinner will be served and the award portion of the evening will immediately follow.  This is such a wonderful evening for the senior and their parents, you won't want to miss this. House - Thank you to everyone who came out and played last night at cupcake wars! Lots of laughs and sugar are always a great ending to a long week! Congrats to Donegal for taking the win!  Next up, Sunday sports. We'll be playing capture the flag on April 28th!

Spanish NHS - There will be practice in the library today after school for all members and inductees of the Spanish National Honor Society.

AP Students - Attention students who are taking the AP exams: If you have a balance to be paid it is due today. An e-mail was sent to your school account with your amount due. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. McThenia.

ACT - If you are taking the ACT this Saturday, April 13, whether you are taking it here or somewhere else, please print a copy of your admission ticket before Saturday. You need a copy of your admission ticket and a picture ID to bring to the testing site in order to take the test. Also remember to bring a calculator to use on the math test.
