In order to be able to accommodate all students and families, we must ask that only immediate family members attend this event. Please note: For safety reasons, children will not be permitted to play on the playground during this event. Fightin’ Irish Ken Klipp Classic 5K: The Fightin’ Irish Ken Klipp Classic 5K will take place NEXT MONDAY, Memorial Day, May 28. All are invited to join us as a runner or walker! Pre-register online at bishopmac.com/5K or register the day of the event.

 

Bridge Bundles: In lieu of what was previously known as "Fee Day", students received a "Bridge Bundle" in their Tuesday folders last week. Documents enclosed in the Bridge Bundle will help you bridge from the current school year to the next. Mass for Sister Charmaine: Join our school community, TODAY, May 16 at 1:30pm for a special Mass for Sister Mary Charmaine. She will be leaving us after this school year to move to the Mother House in Springfield, Illinois. She has been a light for this school/church community for more than 25 years! On May 16, we will dedicate our school Mass to her. Join us for our regularly scheduled Mass at 1:30pm and then join Sister Charmaine for a cake reception in our school gym.

MPS Awareness Day: On Thursday, May 17 we will wear purple along with jeans to raise awareness and donations for the Marcotte family.

2018 Speech Contest: Please save the date! On Saturday, November 3 the 2018 Speech Contest will be held at Kennedy Middle School in Kankakee. Contest will run from 8am to approximately noon. All BMCS students who will be in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade in the fall of 2018 will be participating. Thank you for your support!

Bishop McNamara Progressive Raffle: The fourth and final Bishop McNamara Progressive Raffle drawing will take place THIS FRIDAY, MAY 4…and it’s the biggest payout yet! May Crowning Mass: Join us for the May Crowing Mass THIS Friday, May 4 at 10am. Our 6th graders and 2nd graders will dress up and host this special Mass. This Mass will replace the Mass usually held on Wednesday. There will be an early dismissal at 11:30am on this day for school improvement. Extended day will be available.

Bishop McNamara Progressive Raffle – OUT-OF-UNIFORM INCENTIVE: The fourth and final Bishop McNamara Progressive Raffle drawing will take place on May 4…and it’s the biggest payout yet! We still need your help to reach our total ticket sales goal before May 4. As an effort to reach our final goal, a new sales incentive has been announced! All school families who sell and turn in an additional Progressive Raffle ticket between April 17-April 25 will earn an out-of-uniform day for all students in their household. N.U.T. Day Friday for $1.00! 

Bishop McNamara Jazz Café: All are welcome to join us at our Jazz Café at the BMCS Kankakee Site Cafeteria this Thursday, April 12, from 6pm-8pm. Enjoy a jazz concert featuring the BMCS Jazz Band and many talented well-known local musicians. A $5 admission is suggested but not required. There will be raffles, refreshments, and more! All proceeds will benefit the McNamara band program.

Tuition Tax Credit Program/Invest in Kids Act: Empower Illinois has begun to send out the personalized codes for families to complete Step 2 of the application process. We encourage all families that have completed Step 1 to look at their emails daily and even several times during the day for your personalized code. Strategic Plan Team: Thank you to those who took time to complete our recent parent survey. We truly value input from all who are a part of the BMCS family! Volleyball: There will be no volleyball open tomorrow due to the gym still set up for graduation.  Also there will be a Volleyball meeting in room 113 after school today. Everyone interested in playing volleyball this fall should attend. 

Cross-Country: Anyone interested in running cross-country next fall should sign up with Coach Klipp or Coach Breault during the lunch hours on Monday or  Tuesday.  This includes any 8th graders who want to be part of the high school team in the fall.

Locker Clean-Up: Locker clean-up will take place during 5th and 6th hour high school homerooms. You may go to your cars with your belongings. Any student leaving campus during this time will receive a 3-day suspension resulting in zeros on your finals. Any items not cleared out of lockers today bill be held.

Café: Today is the last day of food service in the cafe. Please remember to pack a lunch beginning Tuesday. 

Final Exams: Final exams will begin next week. Please see the website for exact times. Tuesday: periods 1, 2 and 5. Wednesday: periods 3,4 and 6. Thursday: periods  7, 8 and makeups.
