BMCS 38th Annual Dinner Auction Honorary Chairperson

We are pleased to announce this year’s Honorary Chairperson, Reverend Daniel Belanger, C.S.V.  Fr. Dan was first introduced to Bishop McNamara in 2000 when he was the youth minister at Maternity BVM in Bourbonnais.

During his first fourteen years with the Viatorians he was known as Brother Dan. In 2007, he was ordained a priest at St. Thomas More, Henderson, NV. Fr. Dan’s first assignment was as associate pastor at St. Francis Xavier in Belize. In 2009, he returned to the states and began his ministry as the pastor of St. George Catholic Church in Bourbonnais and of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Beaverville. At that time, he was also hired as the chaplain at Bishop McNamara for the next 10 years where he celebrated Masses regularly with the students and assisted campus ministry with school retreats. Fr. Dan has a passion for gardening and spent numerous hours beautifying the landscaping on the school grounds. Fr. Dan’s love of coffee evolved into the creation of the Holy Grounds Café located at the BMCS Kankakee site where he frequents weekly and will happily offer you an expresso and share in conversation.

Fr. Dan says, “I am honored and never dreamed I would be a part of this spectacular event! Please make plans to attend “A Million Dreams” and help make the students of Bishop McNamara Catholic School’s dreams come true!”
