Important Information

Book Fair:  Book Fair is underway, Tuesday, 09/23 through Thursday 09/25. Information was sent home last week. There are options to shop the Book Fair online as well.

Open House: We look forward to seeing our families at our Open House this Thursday, September 25, 6:00-7:30pm. A flyer was sent home last week with information regarding this fun event for families and students.

Regular Uniform Policy: On Tuesday, October 1, the regular uniform dress code will be in effect and students will not be able to wear shorts to school. Tennis shoes will be an acceptable footwear option.

Auditions for Past, Present, Future a celebration of McNamara: Auditions will be held in the Blackbox theatre September 29th from 5-7pm. Come and sing us a song or prepare a short reading/monologue, or both! We are looking for singers, dancers, and actors for this one of a kind show! Please contact Miss Knefelkamp if you have any questions.

Parent Ambassador Opportunity: Looking to earn your Parent Ambassador hours? Join us for the Progressive Raffle Virtual Call Night!

Help sell Progressive Raffle tickets during this virtual call event and earn Parent Ambassador hours in the process! This is a convenient and impactful way to support our school community while fulfilling your volunteer requirements. Interested? Email Meghan Elliott at melliott@bmcss.org

Extended Day: Families are required to sign up in advance for extended day via the link on our website under “School Day Hours”.  This will direct you to the Sign-up Genius to secure your student’s slot.

Mac Pac Meeting: Join us for the next Mac Pac Meeting at the Bourbonnais Site on Wednesday, October 8th. All parents of Bishop McNamara are members of Mac Pac. Mac Pac is our “PTA” and its purpose is to support teachers and students through activities and events. We hope to see you there!

Progressive Raffle: The Progressive Raffle is next Friday! Please submit your sold raffle tickets to the main office as soon as possible.
Thank you so much for your support of the Bishop McNamara fundraising program. Bishop McNamara families always go above, and beyond which positively impacts each and every one of our students. When your family reaches their fundraising goal, (by October 24, 2025) your student(s) qualify for the quarter zip to wear as part of their regular uniform. Orders will be placed after the second drawing in November. If you need additional tickets or have any questions, please contact Meghan Elliott at melliott@bmcss.org.

RaiseRight (formerly Scrip): Start earning tuition credit 2025-26 now! By using gift cards to pay for everyday (and not-so-everyday) expenses, each participant can earn over $1,000 each year. For every gift card purchased, you receive earnings, 50% of your earned rebate will be applied to next year’s tuition. Questions, contact Sandy Kuntz at skuntz@bmcss.org.

Attention Families! Protecting God’s Children Seminars: All parent ambassadors/volunteers are required to complete a VIRTUS/Protecting God’s Children course before assisting the school.  If you are a new parent or have not completed the course please see the information below In order to volunteer in any capacity, i.e., classroom parties, lunch duty, parent work day etc. the Diocese requires certification. Please see the following steps for completion:
Step 1: Go to www.virtusonline.org to create an account.
Step 2: Accept and Acknowledge understanding of the Policy and Standards.
Step 3: Take the Protecting God’s Children online course through Virtus.org
Step 4: Give consent for the Name-Based Background Check through Virtus.org
Step 5: Fill out the Parent Volunteer Application
