New Information 

Supply Restock: Now is a great time to replenish supplies such as pencils, index cards, glue sticks, and other essentials. Jr high teachers are also running low on Kleenex and paper towels. If you would like to donate, please send with your student to Mrs. Mesenbring’s room.

Parent Ambassador Opportunity: Monday, March 9th we will be hosting our annual Irish Fund Phonathon. We are looking for parent volunteers for a number of jobs. Please see the link below and sign up!

Valentine treats and early dismissal: February 13th Valentine treats will be distributed at the end of the day.
Early dismissal is at 12:00 PM. Please pick up students promptly. There is no extended care, as teachers will attend professional development.

Yearbook Orders: Order forms were sent home during Connections on February 4. Please check your child’s backpack. All orders are due March 2 and should be turned in to the main office. Extra copies are available in the office.

8th Grade Parents: Freshman course selection will take place February 24. More information will be shared via email and school social media.

Math Competition: February 19th Bishop Mac JH will be hosting 10 schools for this year’s math competition. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Langelett for organizing, and best of luck to our Junior High math team, we are cheering you on!

I-Ready My Path: Students should complete 45 minutes per week, actively engaging in and passing lessons. Parents/Guardians, we kindly ask for your partnership at home by checking your child’s i-Ready account with them. Please ask them to show you their My Path lessons and progress, including completed lessons and weekly minutes. Students should be able to demonstrate their work and growth. Students are expected to complete 45 minutes each week, actively engaging in and passing lessons rather than simply being logged in.

Winter Cheer Camp: Feb 17, 18, & 19 our Bishop Mac Cheerleaders will be hosting a winter cheer camp at the Kankakee site. It is open to students 1st – 8th grade. The group will learn and preform at the home game on February 20th. The cost is $35 and each camper will receive a t-shirt. Reenrollment: Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year will be open on Friday, February 13th. New Family enrollment will open on Friday, February 20th. Spread the word!

Valentine Vibes Event: MBVM is hosting a Valentines event for 6-12 graders. The event kicks off at Ice Valley and pick up will be MBVM. No cost for this event but please register here: https://www.mbvmchurch.org/valentinevibes

The Little Mermaid: Thank you to everyone who tried out and congrats to our cast. Stay tuned for show information closer to April 24th and 25th.

KNOWN Youth Rally: 6th to 8th graders, Saturday March 7th BMCS is taking a group of students to the KNOWN Middle School Youth Rally. Enjoy a day of speakers, music, and praise with others your age. There is no cost for this event, and incentives for students who attend. For more information please contact Sr. Sue or Mrs. Bassett via email.

Caddyshack Golf Outing: The Caddyshack Golf Outing will take place on Friday, August 7th, at Aspen Ridge Golf Course. If you'd like to get a head start on your parent ambassador hours for the 2026-2027 school year, consider joining The Caddyshack Golf Outing committee. To get involved, contact Peggy Mayer at pmayer@bmcss.org. 
RaiseRight (formerly Scrip): Start earning tuition credit 2025-26 now! By using gift cards to pay for everyday (and not-so-everyday) expenses, each participant can earn over $1,000 each year. For every gift card purchased, you receive earnings, 50% of your earned rebate will be applied to next year’s tuition. Questions, contact Sandy Kuntz at skuntz@bmcss.org.

Attention Families! Protecting God’s Children Seminars: All parent ambassadors/volunteers are required to complete a VIRTUS/Protecting God’s Children course before assisting the school.  If you are a new parent or have not completed the course please see the information below. In order to volunteer in any capacity, i.e., classroom parties, lunch duty, parent work day etc. the Diocese requires certification. Please see the following steps for completion:

Step 1: Go to www.virtusonline.org to create an account.
Step 2: Accept and Acknowledge understanding of the Policy and Standards.
Step 3: Take the Protecting God’s Children online course through Virtus.org
Step 4: Give consent for the Name-Based Background Check through Virtus.org
Step 5: Fill out the Parent Volunteer Application
